Front Porch Musical Theatre is proud to announce the dates of their performance of, “The Secret Garden”. This is Front Porch Musical Theatre’s first full length musical theatre performance - filled with acting, singing, and dancing! The actors range in age from 9 to 16. The acting cast includes Emily Rosdahl of Elk River as Mary Lennox; Eric Buck of St. Michael as Colin and Landon Liberator of Brooklyn Park as Dickon.
Lead supporting roles are played by Hunter Fraser, Megan Hassing, Alexa Gerber, and Ashley Bendickson. There is a cast of 30. This doesn't daunt the show's directors, Tim and Linda Lindeen. They first met while performing in their college play. Since then, they have put on numerous community and church plays. They have worked with large and small casts, and with all ages. Many of their former students have gone on to professional venues here in the Cities.
Front Porch Musical Theatre is a division of Signature Music Studios in Rogers. This music studio is run by their daughter. Talent runs far in this family! The theatre division outgrew the space at the music studio, so the directors took their work home to Dayton. Their lower level works perfectly for rehearsals with room for a large cast, costumes and props on site. High moral standards are upheld in the rehearsals and in the plays chosen. This, along with the safe, comfortable setting and skilled teachers, help create a safe atmosphere for the students. Along with the Homeschool Theatre, On Stage, their after school theatre class, and Showtime, theatre for teens, they are excited that they will be able to offer 2 new theatre dance classes for ages 11and up and also 2 new Intro to Musical Theatre classes for 3-6 yr olds. Performances for "The Secret Garden" are held at the Elk River High School, "Little Theatre", 900 School Street. Performances are at 7 pm both Friday and Saturday nights, Dec. 2 and 3 and at 1 pm on Saturday Dec. 3. Tickets are offered at family friendly prices: Adults- $8.00, and Children ages 4-17- $5.00.
